Description
In 1902, The Sessions family bought out the clock maker E. N. Welch Company. In 1903, it became the Sessions Company. Clocks made between 1903 -1920 carried both the Welch and Sessions name. This is one of those clocks. The Great Depression caused Sessions to cease production of spring-wound clocks altogether in 1936. During World War II, the Sessions plant devoted itself to the manufacture of war materials.
This clock sat on my grandmother's mantel for as far back in my childhood as I can remember. It was the one thing I asked for when she passed on at age 95. I cherish it and hope this photo shows it off well.
