Description
A Greater Scaup with outstretched wings stands in water, likely in the process of taking off or flapping its wings to dry off. The bird features a brown and black plumage with a distinctive white patch and a bluish beak. It is hard to tell the difference between the greater and lesser scaup. However, the greater scaup prefers salt water and this photo was taken in the salt water marshes of Merritt Island.
